Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about PDF Maker Pro.
General
What is PDF Maker Pro?
PDF Maker Pro is a complete offline PDF toolkit for iPhone and iPad. Scan paper documents, annotate PDFs, capture digital signatures, and share files via Wi-Fi — all without internet, cloud, or accounts.
What devices does it support?
PDF Maker Pro runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. It supports both portrait and landscape orientations on all supported devices.
Does it require an internet connection?
No. PDF Maker Pro works 100% offline. The only time it connects to the internet is to verify your purchase through the App Store. All other features work without any network connection.
Can I use it on both iPhone and iPad?
Yes. PDF Maker Pro is a universal app that runs natively on both iPhone and iPad. One purchase covers all your iOS devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
Pricing & Purchase
How much does it cost?
PDF Maker Pro offers a 2-day free trial with full access to every feature. After the trial, a single one-time purchase unlocks the app forever. No subscription, no recurring fees, no hidden charges. The price is displayed in the app based on your App Store region.
Is there really no subscription?
Correct. PDF Maker Pro uses a one-time purchase model. You buy it once and own it forever. There are no monthly or yearly fees. No surprise charges. No in-app currency.
What happens after the free trial?
After the 2-day trial ends, you'll see a paywall screen prompting you to make a one-time purchase. You can still view your existing documents, but creating new ones or using advanced features requires the purchase.
Can I restore my purchase on a new device?
Yes. Use the Restore Purchase option in the app. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID that made the original purchase, it will be restored at no extra cost.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple through their App Store refund process. We don't process payments directly. You can request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Features
How does the document scanner work?
The scanner uses Apple's VisionKit framework to automatically detect document edges, correct perspective distortion, and enhance readability. Just point your camera at a document and the scanner handles the rest. You can scan multiple pages in one session.
What annotation tools are available?
PDF Maker Pro includes: highlight, underline, and strikethrough; freehand drawing with pen, marker, and pencil tools; shapes (rectangles, circles, lines, arrows); sticky notes; free text; and image stamps. All tools support customizable colors and stroke widths.
How many signatures can I save?
You can save up to 5 different signatures. Each signature supports undo/redo while drawing. Saved signatures can be inserted into any PDF with a single tap.
How does Wi-Fi file sharing work?
The app starts a local web server on your device. Any device on the same Wi-Fi network can access your PDFs through a web browser. Scan the QR code shown in the app to connect instantly. You can upload, download, rename, and delete files from the browser interface. Optional PIN protection adds extra security.
Can I import PDFs from other apps?
Yes. You can import PDFs from Files, email attachments, Safari downloads, or any app that supports file sharing on iOS. The imported PDFs appear in your document library.
Does it support Apple Pencil?
Yes. You can use Apple Pencil for drawing annotations, signing documents, and making freehand notes on any PDF. All drawing tools work with both finger and Apple Pencil input.
Privacy & Security
Does PDF Maker Pro collect my data?
No. PDF Maker Pro does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no analytics, no tracking, no cloud uploads, and no user accounts. All your documents stay on your device.
Are my documents uploaded to any server?
Never. All PDFs are stored locally on your device. The only network activity is the optional Wi-Fi file sharing feature, which operates on your local network — not the internet.
Is Wi-Fi sharing secure?
Wi-Fi sharing only works on your local network. No data is sent over the internet. You can enable PIN protection to restrict access — only users with the PIN can connect. The server stops when you close the sharing screen.
Does it require an account or login?
No. No registration, no email, no login, no account. Just install and use. The only Apple ID interaction is for the App Store purchase.
Troubleshooting
The scanner isn't detecting document edges.
Make sure the document is on a contrasting background (e.g., a white document on a dark surface). Ensure adequate lighting and hold the camera steady. The scanner works best with clear, well-lit documents.
Wi-Fi sharing isn't connecting from my browser.
Ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Check the URL displayed in the Share tab. Try refreshing the browser page. If using a VPN on either device, try disconnecting it temporarily.
My purchase isn't being recognized.
Try the Restore Purchase option in the app. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. If the issue persists, try restarting the app or your device.
The app is running slowly with large PDFs.
Very large PDFs (hundreds of pages) may take a moment to load. The app uses lazy loading to render pages as you scroll. If performance is an issue, try closing other apps to free up memory.
